Studying the ‘daughters of Z’ has changed my life. Months on I am still living in the fruit of a journey with them. Andrew and I are seeing prayers answered now that we were boldly praying at the beginning of the year. I have never been so passionately studying the word of God like I have been on this journey. I am eternally grateful for finding their story and living in the fruit of their boldness.
Here is what the Lord promised me at the end of the first time I focused these 40 days. Continue reading “Day Forty: Where To From Here?” »
What does inheritance mean for me? How can I get this inheritance? These are great questions to be asking. If you have just found this blog post then welcome to a 40 day journey called SHE LIVES BOLD. There are a group of girls who are discovering what it means to live boldly!
Today I want to leave you with some incredible promises from the Bible on inheritance. (download this amazing list of promises here).
There are so many spiritual dynamics at play in the possessing of our inheritance. Some days it feels quite natural and other days deeply spiritual.
In Genesis 31:19 ‘Rachel stole her fathers household gods’ after she realised she was not going to receive any inheritance from her father. These household gods were worth a lot of money as often all the gold and silver of the whole household was melted down to form the god. Some also say that the ‘idols’ speak the future. So owning a god would bring confidence and certainty into what the future holds.
We are nearly there girls – three days to go. (Only three days until conference too! It’s not too late to register!) Yet every time I say that, I am actually believing that this will be a journey we carry on beyond these 40 days.
Yet I will rejoice in the Lord; I will exult in the [victorious] God of my salvation! The Lord God is my Strength, my personal bravery, and my invincible army; He makes my feet like hinds’ feet and will make me to walk [not to stand still in terror, but to walk] and make [spiritual] progress upon my high places [of trouble, suffering, or responsibility]!
Habbakuk 3: 18
It is a Monday and it made me think about heaven on earth in your everyday world. As we are bringing this journey to a close I realised there was one other aspect of these daughters that I wanted to celebrate and that was their resourcefulness.
For these women to come forward would have taken not only boldness and confidence as well as planning and intentionality in what they were going to present, but some scholars say they may have also been women who were resourced enough to have studied and would have held a good reputation in the community. Read day five again to remind yourself what Holy Chutzpah really means. Don’t lose the power of what this whole journey has been doing in you. I love that some Jewish Rabbis call the boldness of the ‘daughters of Z’ ‘spiritual audacity’.
We are moving into a season in our own local church where we are speaking three months of momentum over these last months of the year. I have never been so expectant in all my life. I pray those on this journey feel the same. Continue reading “Day Thirty Five: How Does God Feel About Our Boldness?” »
As we have been talking about the power of showing up I do want to take today to bring another perspective to our showing up .. and that is to address what happens on our journey when we feel like we are being kept hidden (and it is not our ‘time’ to show up).
The ‘daughters of Z’ would have had a journey of feeling hidden, unworthy, unimportant and decided they had their time and chance to come forward. Continue reading “Day Thirty Four: What Happens When You Feel Like You Are Being Kept Hidden?” »
We are one week away from How Beautiful Is Conference 2013 (if you have not registered you can do that right here, even if you can only make it for a few sessions).
This time last year I was preparing a message for opening night called The Power of Showing Up. I was inspired by a blog on a great website SheLovesMagazine (click the link to connect with them). It was a blog called A Love Letter to my Body.. It encouraged girls to celebrate the body they have been given. Continue reading “Day Thirty Three: A Love Letter To Your Body” »
Come celebrate with me friends, raise your glasses, a toast to life, to love….
Yesterday we talked about being passionate in the pursuit of what you are believing God for as your rightful inheritance.
Kiss me—full on the mouth!
‘Let him kiss me with the kisses of his mouth’
Yes! For your love is better than wine.
Song of Songs 1: 2-3
We talked yesterday about the NOW moments in our life that require us to really SHOW UP!
I look at these daughters and I see two qualities to their journey that I want to grow in and this 40 day adventure has challenged me to go after these two things more than anything…
They are passionate and they are present! So as I was thinking of these two qualities it reminded me of some study I did of Song of Songs. (I can’t wait until next year when I get to teach this to our girls who gather locally for Soul Sista. Then we will hopefully make it into a curriculum for small groups).
